Francisco always wanted to go back to school. What held him back was fit, not motivation. Traditional classrooms built around lectures and testing never worked for him, and he had spent years assuming that meant school itself was the problem.
His wife came across Future Forward CT and SNHU and encouraged him to look. One call in, he saw something different: a practical, application-based model that matched how he actually learns. He enrolled shortly after, and is now on track to finish his bachelor's degree in a single term.
What Changed
The coursework turned out to be directly useful. Francisco works in HR, and the program sharpened how he evaluates complex issues, finds root causes, and defends a decision once he has made it. "It gave me tools that I actively use in my career today," he says.
The other change was less tangible. Finishing something he had deferred for years told him something about himself he had not been sure of. "Completing my degree in this format showed me that I was capable of achieving something I had put off for a long time."
What made it work day to day was having someone in his corner. His coach, Cristina, helped structure his projects and kept him oriented, so his energy went into the work rather than into figuring out the system.
His Advice
Francisco had the same doubts most people do. School is not for me. I have been out too long. I am not good at tests. He would tell anyone carrying those thoughts to look at them more closely first.
"It may not be that you are bad at studying or that you do not have time. It may simply be that you have not yet found what works best for you."
And then, he says, start anyway. Trust the process, stay consistent, and do not wait to feel inspired. That part comes later.
