Maria was a working mom in Connecticut with a dream she had placed on hold. Between raising her son, meeting the demands of her job, and managing daily responsibilities, returning to school felt out of reach. Still, she wanted to show her son what was possible and achieve something for herself.
When her son entered college, Maria felt inspired to start her own education journey. She discovered Future Forward CT and Southern New Hampshire University and decided it was time to take the leap.
“I never thought I was going to do this. Not ever.”
Maria chose the program because it fit her life. SNHU’s self paced, project based structure allowed her to work, parent, and complete her degree on her own terms. Her coach guided her through each milestone and helped her stay confident throughout the journey.
Maria completed her Associate Degree in only 11 months. She kept going and continued through the bachelor’s program, staying focused and consistent even when life felt busy.
Today, Maria is a bachelor’s degree graduate. Her achievement is a source of pride for her family and a reminder of her resilience and commitment.
“I feel powerful. I feel empowered. I am a superhero now.”
For Maria, education is not only personal growth. It is a message to her son and to other working parents that starting something new is possible at any stage of life.
